Inspired by the cultural richness experienced during a family visit to Portugal, and deeply influenced by her Portuguese husband's heritage, Melissa embraced a dream to bring a touch of Portugal's vibrant spirit and timeless beauty to South Africa. Enchanted by the captivating craftsmanship of Bordallo Pinheiro ceramics, Melissa was inspired to illuminate South Africa with this extraordinary brand. This vision came to life in a beautiful showroom in Granger Bay, blossoming further with a celebrated store on Bree Street, marking Bordallo Pinheiro’s first extraordinary outpost outside of Europe. In embracing the rhythms of change and recognizing evolving shopping landscapes, Melissa gracefully transitioned to the digital world in 2022. With a refreshed vision and a desire to showcase an expanded tapestry of Portuguese brands, the brand transformed from Bordallo Pinheiro South Africa to Vida Bela.
